| okay, only a few years, anyway . . . | |||
| I have wanted to make a documentary about a woman's search for . . . self, purpose, God, spirit, or whatever. Men seek glory or spirtuality, and we read and hear about their journies. Women often think they are not as important as men, so I want to demonstrate their life journies. | |||
| A couple of years ago during the December Holiday I was in Charleston, South Carolina. I spoke to a Gullah woman who was famous for weaving seagrass baskets. I found her story fascinating. | |||
| A short time later while I was volunteering at an Arts Festival in Atlanta, I met a woman who volunteered at the Margaret Mitchell house. She is a doctor, but her passion is skydiving. She said there is a group of women from different backgrounds who skydive regularly. I spoke to her about my interest in making a documentary about women. She said she would talk to me, but that many women probably wouldn't. | |||
| In some of my experiences I have found that people don't like to talk about themselves, especially if you sit back, listen, and don't give up anything about yourself. So, I thought that I would try to write down my search. I thought if others saw that I have gone through similar adventures they might be more forthcoming. That led to my decision to begin writing about my life experiences and the section about my search. | |||
| One of my objectives is to get information from people about their searches. | |||
